It's delicious! Service is fast. Space is clean. Bossam was yummy. I would've ordered the Galbi-jjim if it wasn't so pricey. Many options for banchan, including refills. Would come back again!

I was devastated when Cho Dang near Gable House Bowl closed. So imagine how delighted I was to find that Jang Su Jang was run by the same people. We even had our favorite waitress from Cho Dang serve us. The tofu soup was just as delicious as we remembered. The ban chan was the perfect accompaniment. My daughter tried the teriyaki chicken, which, while certainly not Korean, was very tender and flavorful. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. This is our favorite restaurant in Torrance.

BEST KOREAN FOOD IN THE SOUTH BAY! Been here and its past iterations (i.e., Cho Dang and Da Maat) too many times in the past year whenever we want good Korean food. FOOD: - Bossam Jungsik (5/5): This was surprisingly good! Premium ingredients perfectly prepared. - Seafood & Beef Soon Tofu (5/5): Love the additional depth the seafood adds to the broth, but peeling the shrimp is not my favorite. - Kimchi & Beef Soon Tofu (4.5/5): Flavor is not as deep as the seafood/broth one but this is what I get when I'm too lazy to peel the shrimp. - Beef Bulgogi (4.5/5): Like this better than the galbi - the meat is shaved so thin and charred perfectly - LA Galbi (4/5): It's fine, not the best we've had - Yang Nyum Kkot Ssal - Marinated Prime Boneless Ribs (4/5): Good but small servings for what you pay - Wang Mandoo - King-size Boiled Dumplings (4/5): Good, not the best we've had - Seafood Pancake (4/5): It's good but not the best we've had - Buckwheat Mul Naengmyun (4/5): Good but not the best we've had - Spicy Galbi Jjim (3.5/5): Good, premium ingredients but super small for the price, wouldn't get this again. OTHER: - Their banchans are QUALITY, especially the cucumber kimchi. We get a cucumber kimchi per person because we love it that much. Unlimited banchan refills! - Super clean, modern, and bright with attentive service - Located in a strip mall with ample street parking

Atmosphere - Former Cho Dang (near Gable House) and Da Maat. Clean, classy, large space with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Customer service - excellent service, very attentive and helpful. Staff will make suggestions on menu choices and are very accommodating. Taste - Galbi, bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, mandoo, jap chae and tofu soup were flavorful, meat was tender and everything tasted authentic. Purple rice must be requested and served if available. Price - Average

Go here if you're trying to eat good Korean food. They have hot pots, bbqs, everything. I like variety when it comes to dishes and love that they have so many options. They're located in the plaza across next to King's Hawaiian. There were many groups already waiting for a table when we got there for dinner during a weeknight. Even so, we got seated within 30 minutes. The inside of the restaurant is really cute and cozy. You get the menus when you get seated and they serve hot tea. This was our first time here, so we ordered a few dishes: Kkot Ssal (prime boneless ribs - bbq), Bossam Jungsik, (steamed pork slices with cabbage wraps), and a Vegetable Soon Tofu. 5/5 would come back just for the Kkot Ssal. We really enjoyed all the banchan that was provided for the table and the soondubu was really warm and tasty on a cold night. The prime boneless ribs melts in your mouth and goes really well with the two sauces that come with it. Each piece was really buttery and was good with any of the banchan. The bossam jungsik was really filling along with the soondubu and the side of rice. Overall really happy with everything we ordered and plan on coming back to try their hot pots, bibimbaps, and appetizers.

In a plaza off Sepulveda. Takes credit card and busy during lunch time The interior was recently remodeled so it looks very welcoming. BanChan was excellent. The variety of small side dishes were all very tasty. Unlike other places that lack flavor #1 Mille Feille Nabe ($29)- it comes out over hot rocks. So it stays hot. It keeps the soup at a boil. Let the napa cabbage stew in the soup or else it will be too hard to eat. There's slices of beef in between the napa. The beef is super tough bc I think they've been boiled to make the soup stock. But boiling it longer makes it even more tough. It'd better if they used raw meat and then have it cook in the soup when they come out.

Been wanting to try this place out so we decided to check it out recently. We came on a Wednesday night and there wasn't a wait for two people. The inside looks pretty clean and modern. There was a good amount tables and some table booths area. We got seated near the front. My bf and I decided to order a few items to share. We got the seafood tofu soup, small bossam, and the galbi. Everything was so yummy! Service could be a little better. They were really helpful in the beginning and wanting you to order right away. However, after we got our food, no one really checked in with us or ask us how we are doing. It was whatever but would be nice if someone checked in with us. We had to flagged someone down for a togo box and for the check. It is kind of pricey! But it is worth it to check it out. Our total came out to about $90. We recently went to this other Korean place called Gaya Grill which is also in Torrance. I actually prefer Gaya over this restaurant since it was more lowkey and the food was more flavorful in my opinion. The portions are also a bit bigger than this location for the price.

What is your New Year's resolution? Mine is to "try" to eat healthier when the opportunity presents itself. That is why I stopped by Jang Su Jang in Torrance. I've seen the trending and iconic Mille-Feuille Nabe dish everywhere lately. It is a clean hot pot dish featuring napa cabbage and sliced meat, and Jang Su Jang has it on their menu! This is definitely an aesthetic dish as you can see the beautiful alternating layers of meat, sesame leaves, and napa cabbage. Jang Su Jang is a Korean establishment, so their take on the Japanese dish is slightly different from what you would traditionally see. Normally this dish does not have sesame leaves. I found the sesame leaves pleasant as it broke up the flavor and gave a bit more variety to this simple dish. My favorite has to be the Tong SamGyub Salad since WHO DOESN'T LIKE PORK BELLY??? The grilled pork belly is served on a bed of arugula salad and it was the most savory thing ever. 10/10 recommend!! Tong SamGyub Salad - salad with roasted pork belly Mille-Feuille Nabe - beef, napa cabbage, sesame leaves, mushroom in broth Their service was great. The Mille-Feuille dish required on the spot cooking over a flame and the wait staff was super nice cooked it for me. They seemed worried I'd burn myself, but I'm a seasoned veteran at Boiling Point so this was nothing new for me! Heh. Instagram: @jessgoeat

Cho Dang and Da Maat were sister restaurants. Although both are now closed, the two live on as a newly merged establishment named Jang Su Jang. You will find the entwined eatery in a plaza along Sepulveda, near King's Hawaiian. The space was previously occupied by Tous les Jours. Parking is plentiful, I never have trouble finding a spot nearby. It was packed on a Friday night, about a 20 minute wait to be seated. There were a few tables outside, but it's kind of awkward because you're sitting close to the patrons sitting inside and there's no partitions between the two; only the glass window. But there are shades to block the sun and heaters to combat the cold. Their menu consists of Korean grilled meats, tofu soups, noodle soups, and other popular dishes. I ordered the Mille-Feuille Nabe, which means "thousand layers" in French and "hot pot" in Japanese. Thin sheets of napa cabbage, beef, and sesame leaves are arranged in a colorful and alternating pattern. Other toppings are included like kabocha and mushrooms. They'll bring the pot and a portable stove to your table, where it'll cook. Taste-wise, simple and healthy! The boiled meat and vegetables give this dish a clean but overall plain flavor profile. Will have to come back to try everything else but so far so good!
